Current Church Groups

Crèche - The crèche is for children from birth to age 4 and operates, throughout the year, to enable parents/carers to attend our Sunday Morning Service. Parents/carers are welcome to stay with their child at the crèche until they and their child feel comfortable to be left. Parents/carers of babies under 6weeks old are asked to stay with their child - either keeping their child with them in church or coming through to the hall with the crèche and Sunday school after ‘Family Time’. Sunday School & Youth Group – are held on Sunday mornings during school term time (approx. times are 10.45 to 12.noon). We aim to make our Sunday school an interesting and fun place for children to learn about Christianity to enable then to grow in their faith. The Sunday school is divided into 3 groups: - Group 1 for primary 1 & 2 Group 2 for primary 3, 4 & 5 andGroup 3 for primary 6 & 7.The Youth Group is for our teenagers, and we aim to encourage them to participate in a variety of activities and Bible study. As they mature in their faith can move on to becoming ‘Young Leaders’. The children from the Sunday School and Youth Group participate in our Sunday morning worship by taking turns of reading the first lesson in the service and by leading the family prayer. Please remember new members are always very welcome.A small collection is taken each week and this is used to help fund trips and resources. To comply with current regulations we take a weekly attendance register of all children and leaders. If you would like to become a regular helper within any of these groups, please let us know – please also note that regular helpers and Sunday School leaders are required to have an Enhanced Disclosure check carried out.

The Ladies Fellowship meet fortnightly on Tuesdays n the Church Hall where they have talks by speakers on varying subjects. They share fellowship in the hall as well as organising outings to the theatre and day trips out. They actively support Christian Aid and other charities All are welcome.

We have a Choir of about fifteen members and an Organist who leads the hymn singing at all church services. Rehearsals are on a Friday at 6.30pm. We would be happy to have you join us!

The Tuesday Morning Club has around 45 members who meet up every Tuesday morning for a short informal service lasting around 30 minutes, with refreshments served from 10.15 am. Attendees choose the hymns to be sung and are encouraged to make their contributions with Bible readings, praise and prayer and short stories relevant to the Bible readings.Missionaries and representatives from other organizations have visited the club, as well as people from other denominations in the village. The club contributes to the Blythswood Appeal, missions and Christian Aid with the weekly general collection having benefited the church in many ways over the years.

The Social Committee manages the weekly tea/coffee duties on a rota after the Sunday service. The 4th Sunday in the month, excluding July and August, is always a 'Soup Sunday,' when the appointed ladies make and serve the soup and clear the tables. Soup Sunday gives everyone who comes along a chance to catch-up with each other. The Social Committee also has a hand with other volunteers in arranging social evenings which bring members and non-members together. If you never come into the Hall for a coffee and a chat, please come along - you will be made most welcome!
